FundiAI (Pty) Ltd (“FundiAI”, “we”, “us”) is committed to protecting the privacy and personal information of all persons who visit our website or use our services. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”).

FundiAI (Pty) Ltd is the Responsible Party under POPIA for personal information collected through our website and business activities.

3. What Personal Information We Collect
3.1 Website Visitors
- Browser type, device type, IP address, and approximate location (via analytics tools such as Google Analytics).
- Pages visited, time spent on pages, and referral sources.
- Cookie and tracking data (see Section 9 below).
3.2 Contact Enquiries
- Name, email address, phone number, and business name when you contact us.
- The content of your message or enquiry.
3.3 Service Clients
- Business and contact details (name, company name, registration number, address, email, phone).
- Social media account access tokens when you link Facebook or Instagram for Poppie services.
- Website credentials and hosting details when you engage Chad for website services.
- Business content: product descriptions, logos, brand assets, and company information for content creation.
- Communication records (emails, WhatsApp messages) related to your service.
- Invoice and payment records.
3.4 Payment Information
We do not store credit card or full banking details. Payments via EFT are reconciled by payment reference. Card/instant EFT payments are processed by PayFast under their own privacy policy. We are not responsible for PayFast’s data handling practices.
3.5 Social Media Platform Access
For Poppie clients, we access your Facebook and/or Instagram accounts via Meta Business Suite or authorised APIs to schedule and publish content on your behalf. We access only what is necessary to deliver the service you have subscribed to.
4. Why We Collect and Use Your Information
- To deliver the services you have engaged us for (social media management, website services, content creation, and other FundiAI offerings).
- To communicate about your project, service progress, approvals, and support.
- To process and reconcile payments.
- To improve our website and services using aggregated analytics data.
- To send marketing communications about new features or promotions, where you have opted in or where permitted by law.
- To comply with legal obligations under POPIA, PAIA, and other applicable legislation.
- To protect the security and integrity of our systems and services.
5. AI Tools and Third-Party Processing
FundiAI uses AI tools to assist with content creation, drafting, analysis, and service delivery. Important disclosures:
- AI tools used may include tools provided by Google (Gemini), OpenAI, Anthropic, and similar providers. The tools used may change over time.
- Data minimisation: We do not upload unnecessary personal information to AI tools. Where AI tools are used, we aim to use anonymised or business-level information only.
- AI tools operate under their own terms of service and privacy policies. FundiAI is not responsible for those providers’ data handling practices, which may include cross-border data processing.
- AI-generated content may be included in deliverables. Clients remain responsible for reviewing and verifying all AI-generated content before publication.
6. Who We Share Your Information With
- Service providers and operators (cloud hosting, email, analytics, scheduling, project management tools) processing data on our behalf under written agreements.
- PayFast, for payment processing.
- AI tool providers, to the minimum extent necessary to deliver services (see Section 5).
- Meta (Facebook/Instagram), where you have authorised account access for social media services.
- Professional advisers (accountants, lawyers, auditors) where necessary, bound by confidentiality.
- Regulatory authorities or law enforcement, where required by law.
We do not sell personal information to third parties.
7. Cross-Border Data Transfers
Some third-party tools we use (AI tools, cloud storage, analytics, communication platforms) may process data outside South Africa. Where cross-border transfers occur, we rely on appropriate protections such as contractual agreements, provider terms, and data minimisation. We only transfer personal information internationally where a lawful basis exists under POPIA.
8. Data Retention
- Client service records: retained for the duration of the service and a reasonable period thereafter (typically 5 years) for legal and business purposes.
- Invoice and financial records: as required by the Income Tax Act and tax regulations (typically 5 years).
- Website analytics: as per the analytics tool’s retention settings (typically 14–26 months).
- Contact enquiries: up to 2 years, or longer if a service relationship develops.
When personal information is no longer required, it is securely deleted or de-identified.
9. Cookies
Our website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies. We use cookies to:
- Enable website functionality and remember your preferences.
- Analyse website traffic and user behaviour.
- Support marketing where applicable.

12. Children’s Privacy
Our services are directed at businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
